Four Little Robin Birds

1 What a funny little noise--"Peep! peep! peep!"
Somewhere in among the leaves deep, deep, deep;
Such a flutter and a fuss my, O my!
Four little robin birds, learning to fly!

Four little robin birds, funny little things,
Want to fly, and yet afraid to use their tiny wings:
Guess they are too little--yet, by and by,
All the tiny robin birds will learn to fly.

2 Mamma robin hovers near, spreads her wings,
Shows them how to make a stroke--down-ward swings;
Baby robins peep and peep, quite afraid--
Four little robin birds, there in the shade. [Refrain]

3 One is climbing from the nest--falls back in!
Now there is a noisy time; hear the din!
Mamma robin's warning voice--babies' cry;--
When will those robin birds learn how to fly? [Refrain]

4 O you silly robin bird, what ails you?
We wont hurt your little ones--keep still do!
If you're 'fraid, we'll go away--so good-bye;
Hope soon your baby birds will learn to fly. [Refrain]
