82. Praise to the King

1 Let every thankful heart rejoice
And voices blend in praise,
To God for His unfailing love,
And for our length of days.
Through winter storms His mighty arm
Protects us from all ill,
And through the golden summer hours
His peace abideth still.

Refrain:
This is our day of jubilee,
Rejoice, rejoice and sing,
Come all ye people, raise the strain,
Sing praises to our King.

2 The sun declares His pow’r by day,
The moon His pow’r by night,
Each star displays the work of Him
Who said, “Let there be light.”
The winds and waves obey His voice
Whene’er He bids them cease;
The mountains and the hills rejoice,
And all things tell of peace. [Refrain]

3 Let glad hosannas fill the air
And spread from shore to shore,
Till slumb’ring nations praise the name
Of Him whom we adore;
The name of Him whom angels praise
In realms of endless rest;
The name of Him who died that we
Might be forever blest. [Refrain]
