Scored for Organ

With a line from John Greenleaf Whittier’s “Dear Lord and Father of Mankind” as his inspiration, “Speak through the earthquake, wind, and fire, O still, small voice of calm!,” Mr. Walters has composed an art-filled and glorious collection of familiar hymn melodies associated with those meditative, quiet musical moments of the worship service. Adding a special musical layer of calm, hushed serenity, is the opportunity for a beginning instrumentalist to add its tender voice. The included parts are variously keyed in treble and bass C, B-flat, and Horn in F. The instrumental parts are doubled in the organ to lend support for beginning instrumentalists, but are clearly bracketed and may be omitted at the discretion of the organist. This collection offers a wonderful opportunity for a budding instrumentalist to enjoy a successful premiere as a soloist.
