All's Clear Up Aloft

Author: D. W. Whittle Hymnal: Sacred Songs No. 2 #100 (1899) First Line: All's clear up aloft, said the Captain true Lyrics: 1 “All’s clear up aloft,” said the Captain true, As fearlessly onward he sped; “No fog is up here, it is all below, The sunshine’s just over our head.” Refrain: “All’s clear up aloft,” O glad word of cheer, O Captain so true and so brave; “All’s clear up aloft,” and no danger near, As onward we speed o’er the wave. 2 “All’s clear up aloft,” for the Lord, our Light, Our Strength, and our Refuge and Song, Is there in command thro’ the day and night, My Captain so true and so strong. [Refrain] 3 “All’s clear up aloft,” all is safe below, Though fogs and though mists may prevail; With eye all undimmed, stands the Captain true, To guide us as onward we sail. [Refrain] 4 “All’s clear up aloft,” for, with Him on high, The dark is the same as the light; He knows all the peril and dangers nigh; His beacon shines on in the night. [Refrain] 5 “All’s clear up aloft,” with the Captain true, Our course and our speed will be right; We’ll trust without fear for the One we know Is there up aloft in the light. [Refrain] Topics: Assurance Tune Title: [All's clear up aloft, said the Captain true]
