Somebody Knows and Cares

Author: Lida Shivers Leech Appears in 3 hymnals First Line: Tho' shadows fall on the path I tread Refrain First Line: Somebody cares for me Lyrics: 1 Tho’ shadows fall on the path I tread, Somebody knows, somebody cares; And fond ambitions lie crush’d and dead, Somebody knows and cares. And ‘mid the shadows so dark and drear, When I am troubled with doubt and fear, Like sweetest music these words I hear, Somebody knows and somebody cares. Chorus: Somebody cares for me, Jesus my friend will be; He all my joy and my grief will share, Praise His dear name, He knows and He cares. 2 When I am tempted and tried each day, Somebody knows, somebody cares; And for the vict’ry in faith I pray, Somebody knows and cares. When I have triumph’d o’er sin and wrong, And I am happy the whole day long, Praising His name in a glad, sweet song, Somebody knows and somebody cares. [Chorus] 3 Whate’er my cross in this life may be, Somebody knows, somebody cares; I’ll bravely bear it and faithful be, Somebody knows and cares. I’ll trust His love where I cannot see, Thro’ cloud and sunshine I’ll happy be, Knowing my Saviour will care for me, Praise His dear name, He knows and He cares. [Chorus] Used With Tune: [Tho' shadows fall on the path I tread]
