Father, We Come to Thee

Author: Sallie K. Best Hymnal: Inspiring Songs No. 1 #100 (1906) First Line: Father, we come to thee, thy pardon seeking Lyrics: 1 Father, we come to thee, thy pardon seeking; All of our guiltiness take thou away; Be thou compassionate while we are speaking; For thy forgiveness we earnestly pray. 2 Father, we come to thee: kindly receive us; To thy sweet promises closely we cling. We would thy children be: Father, believe us! Only, our love to thy altar we bring. 3 Father, we come to thee: we were so lonely; Far from thy shelt’ring fold found we no rest; Now to abide with thee, trusting thee only, Father, receive us, by sorrow opprest. 4 Father, we come to thee, fully believing; And by thy tenderness, thy pard’ning love, Blessings abundantly we are receiving, Pardon on earth and a mansion above.
