1849 - 1944 Person Name: C. Burke (b. 1859) Author of "Brethren, go! the Lord be with you" in A Missionary Hymn Book Burke, Christian, was born in London Sept. 18, 1859, and now (1906) resides in Highgate, London. Her earlier verse, contributed to various periodicals, was collected as The Flowering of the Almond-Tree and other Poems, 1896, revised edition 1901. Her hymn “Lord of Life and King of Glory” [Mothers' Societies] was written in Dec. 1903, and first printed in the Treasury, Feb. 1901, p. 453, headed "Prize Hymn for a Mothers’ Union Service."
